It is always important to phone the centre as soon as possible to notify staff if your child will be absent for the day due to sickness or other.
Ministry regulations state that a child can only be absent from the centre for a maximum of 21 days at one given time and thereafter Government funding ceases.
We ask that you notify the centre if your child will be absent for a long period (eg on an overseas trip). This includes the Christmas close-down period, so if a child is absent on the last day before Christmas, the 21 days includes those days the Centre is closed.
Parents/caregivers of a child absent from the centre for more than 21 calendar days are required to pay the funding the centre loses for the extra period beyond the 21 days until the child returns.
